Phil Rimmer, who previously managed our Dorchester depot until Feb 2011, died on the 8th March in Torbay hospital after having a massive stroke, aged just 56. Dorset Reclaim was commissioned by Lush, who are based in Poole, to make “charity pot shelves” for their shops – over 160 have been distributed to stores nationwide. Bournemouth Borough Council has chosen Dorset Reclaim to be a partner in the delivery of the new Local Welfare Assistance scheme from the 1st April 2013. Instead of applying to the DWP for a Community Care Grant or Crisis Loan, Bournemouth residents who find themselves in severe hardship now apply direct to their local council for help with items such as beds, washing machines and cookers.
