Bournemouth Local Welfare Assistance Fund

Bournemouth Borough Council has chosen Dorset Reclaim to be a partner in the delivery of the new Local Welfare Assistance scheme from the 1st April 2013.
Instead of applying to the DWP for a Community Care Grant or Crisis Loan, Bournemouth residents who find themselves in severe hardship now apply direct to their local council for help with items such as beds, washing machines and cookers. If they qualify, they are referred to us to choose their items and have them delivered.

Lisa Ypes, the manager of the Local Welfare Assistance programme at Bournemouth Borough Council said “We are very pleased to be working with a well known local charity who can offer an excellent service. It means we can support our residents, the local economy and offer value for money to taxpayers.”
