Do you have any unwanted items from furniture and electrical items, to white goods, carpets or curtains, that are in good condition? If so, we may be able to help you and help our clients as well by making their house into a home.

Booking a collection

You can of course bring us the item or alternatively we offer a free collection service on particular days of the week, depending on the area in which you live.

We operate collection services across Dorset and the New Forest from our Bournemouth, Poole and Dorchester branches.

Please click here to check the branch which would manage your donation and the days we are in your area.

Occasionally, we may not be able to collect certain items offered to us

This may be because

– The donations do not always suit the requirements of the people that we help

– We may have run out of storage space in our branches, or simply because we have too many items of a particular type

– We have to comply with Trading Standards regulations, and for example, we may not be able to take sofas and chairs that were made before 1988, or which don’t have the Fire Safety label secured

– Other items such as bunk beds or cots are also subject to regulations, so we may have to ask you questions about the items you are offering.

Please accept our apologies if we are unable to help or have to refuse any item offered at certain times.

Dorset Reclaim is registered with the Environment Agency as a Designated Collection Facility (DCF) and holds all the necessary authorisations to be able to collect unwanted working electrical goods and other household items.

We have also been offered donations of cars, motor bikes, caravans, garden sheds & greenhouses, which have been made good use of. If you have something which is not listed, it might still be of interest to our Project, please telephone us to see if we can help.

Gift Aid

Dorset Reclaim is registered for Gift Aid which means that for every £1 we charge, we can claim 25p from HMRC (Inland Revenue) at no cost to you. As your furniture or appliance will be passed on to our clients at a low price, Gift Aid helps cover our running costs, hence your donation goes that little bit further.

The only requirement for you to be able to sign a Gift Aid Form is that you are currently paying tax in the UK, either on your salary or on your savings.

As a registered charity, it would help us greatly if you could complete a Gift Aid Form when donating.
